this is the lament
it comes from the rich
it comes from the poor
no more American dream
it is broken
like a raw egg dropped on the sidewalk
you can't put the pieces back together
America...a humpty dumpty
done in by:
corruptness
perniciousness
and the lack of a work ethic
see the masses sucking at the teat
the dead cow was once known as the land of the free
home of the brave
it was only good when it was corn fed
my America
rest in peace

Sometimes I truly feel that way & I know my daughter will never know the country I grew up knowing. I have learned that change is inevitable & the quicker I can adapt the better chance I have of surviving. I worry terribly what will be left for our children & I agree it is a mess, but opportunity is abundant & we may have to look harder, reach further but dreams can still very much be a reality & can come true in America. I still feel after all the places I have lived & traveled around the world there is no better place than America to have the opportunity to make your dreams come true. In my heart I still very much believe in the American Dream. Thanks for sharing!!!
